The Women’s Plays Festival is set to meet theater lovers in eight different cities in February and March 2025. The festival is the only one in Turkey and Europe focused on women’s themes in theater.
This year, the event will be staged in Ankara, Aydın, Bandırma, Konak, Manisa, Muğla, Çanakkale, and Ayvalık. Each leg of the festival will last five days, and in each city, five different theater plays with women’s themes will be presented to the audience. A total of eight plays and forty performances will be held.
The carefully selected play repertoire aims to raise awareness about women’s rights and issues both in Turkey and worldwide. Special play selections have been prepared for each city, delivering deep messages about women’s issues. The Women’s Plays Festival, which is being held for the fifth time this year, is also known for its social responsibility projects. Traditionally, part of the proceeds will be donated to an NGO that supports education for girls.
This year’s festival, organized by “Atölye Kültür Sanat,” will announce its detailed program on its social media accounts in the coming days.
