The nostalgic “Kancabaş Boats” have been launched into the Meriç River (Maritsa River) and began service on Wednesday, May 29. Regarding this new initiative Governor Yunus Sezer shared the following information:
“We have realized one of the important destination centers in Edirne. The nostalgic boats, which are 8 meters long, powered by solar energy, and have a capacity of 10 people, will start serving our citizens from Wednesday, May 29. I invite all our citizens to take a tour on the Maritsa River with these nostalgic boats.”
This initiative is seen as another timely and admirable step. However, it is crucial that this initiative yields productive results rather than being just an empty effort.
To achieve this, regular and consistent service is necessary. The boats should operate reliably according to the specified schedule and program, without interruptions. Equally important is effective promotion.
