If the meteorology report turns out to be accurate, it seems that Edirne will meet the first snow of the season today or tomorrow. It’s time to take out the hats, gloves, and scarves from our closets.
Although the temperature hasn’t reached below freezing so far, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday are expected to be around minus 2 or 3 degrees Celsius, according to the meteorology.
Will this situation cause much traffic congestion in Edirne? It doesn’t seem very likely. After all, Edirne is not a very crowded city (thank God), on the contrary to Istanbul, Izmir etc.
Still, it’s advisable to dress warmly for protection. Because once you catch a cold, it’s a real challenge to get rid of it in less than 10 days, especially in this weather.

Just as I write this post, a video pops up on INSTAGRAM. Everything is covered in white, and snow is falling, of course. The scene is from Hamzabeyli village in Lalapaşa district of Edirne. Everywhere is covered in snow. It’s reported that snow is starting to have an impact in the Kırklareli province as well (according to Edirnehaber reporter).
