In Edirne, the street revitalization project aimed at preserving the historical texture of the city center is ongoing.
The project, which is being carried out by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in cooperation with the Governorship of Edirne, focuses on the city’s main street, Saraçlar Street. As part of the project, the renovation of another example building has been completed.
The facades of two shops located at the entrance of the street have been renovated to align with the historical texture.
Additions such as air conditioners, antennas, and awnings, which were not in line with the project, were removed, and the windows and door frames were renewed to ensure the integrity of the facade.
As part of the work, a total of 233 buildings, 129 of which are registered as cultural heritage, on both sides of the approximately 750-meter-long street will be restored in accordance with the historical texture.
