Both local and foreign tourists visiting Edirne will now be able to access all necessary information about the city digitally by scanning the QR code on promotional cards placed at locations such as restaurants, taxi stands, and hotels.
As part of Edirne Governorship’s branding efforts, all the city’s amenities (and local products) are being promoted on the websites “edirne.com.tr” and “edirneyoresel.com.tr”, which showcase local delicacies. Visitors can easily access these two sites by using the QR code found on desktop cards.
The Directorate of Culture and Tourism (Edirne branch), distributed QR-coded cards to restaurant owners and provided information about the websites by visiting restaurants.
The official in charge stated that efforts to promote Edirne continued on various platforms. He mentioned that a new logo and slogan have been created by Edirne Governorship, and a project highlighting the city’s gastronomic and touristic richness has been undertaken. He said, “We have implemented an application aimed at promoting local brands, where we highlight the gastronomic and touristic richness of Edirne. We are utilizing digital technology. Local and foreign visitors to our city can enter both the “edirne.com.tr” and “edirneyoresel.com.tr” addresses by scanning the QR code.”
The official emphasized that visitors could access detailed information about the city through these websites. He also noted that the distribution of cards is ongoing, stating, “We have placed them in areas where both local and foreign visitors enter and spend time, such as accommodation establishments, restaurants, taxi stands, bus stations, and train stations, which are among the most important stakeholders of tourism.”
