Local and foreign tourists continue to show great interest in Edirne’s Ulus Market. Although there is a decrease in the number of Bulgarian customers in the market set up on Fridays, the interest of local customers has pleased the market traders.
In the market where Edirne traders open their stalls early in the morning to wait for customers, it was observed that the local people aimed to meet their winter needs.
The traders, mentioning that the weather conditions affected the market, stated that snowfall in different regions caused Bulgarian customers to leave early. However, they noted that with the local customers starting to show interest in winter products, the overall interest in the market has increased. Meanwhile, it was observed that local customers also showed interest in New Year’s products.
In general, according to the traders, as the end of 2023 approaches, there seems to be a decrease in the interest of Bulgarian citizens in the market. Especially in recent weeks, there has been a significant decrease in the number of Bulgarian customers, and the traders emphasized that the density of local customers keeps the market lively.
On the other hand, the traders expressed that they anticipate potential Bulgarian customers to return to the markets after January 15, creating a new level of activity.
