The opening of Patipark, where dogs can run and play freely and have fun times, was realized in the area right next to the “barrier-free living” area by Edirne Municipality. Edirne Mayor said, “We have created a new area where our friends and street animals can spend their time more freely, receive occasional training, and in a sense socialize, and we named it Patipark.”
The opening of Patipark, constructed by Edirne Municipality in Abdi İpekçi Street, Şükrüpaşa Neighborhood, was held by Edirne Mayor Recep Gürkan and some other personnel and members of the municipality. Putting the freedom and happiness of each paw in the forefront, Patipark became a meeting point not only for paws with its running tracks and play areas but also for owners to come together and enjoy pleasant times.
Stating that animal lovers have had such a demand for a long time, Edirne Mayor said, “We have created a new area where our animal friends, street animals, can spend their time more freely, receive occasional training, and in a sense socialize, and we named it Patipark. I thank our Parks and Gardens Directorate, our Veterinary Affairs Directorate for realizing this work in a short time.”
Gürkan emphasized that one of the most important characteristics of a city is the value and care given to all living beings in that city, “We have been trying to do this for years. Edirne, with its nature, culture, people, and all living beings in this city, is a common city for all of us. I believe that this collective understanding, this collective lifestyle will continue in our Edirne in the coming years, in the coming period. We invite all our fellow citizens and furry friends to our park. May it be auspicious and fortunate.”
