Edirne: Kapıkule Customs Gate Opened for Pedestrian Crossings

Due to the pandemic, the Kapıkule Customs Gate, which was previously closed for pedestrian crossings, has now reopened pedestrian crossings by the end of 2023.

Mr. Yunus SEZER, the Governor of Edirne, stated the following regarding this development at Kapıkule: “Today, as of now, we are resuming pedestrian crossings at our border gate, which was closed to pedestrian traffic due to the pandemic.

Governor Sezer added following as well:

“Last year (2022), there were 4,645,000 vehicle crossings at Kapıkule. This year, in 2023, this figure increased by approximately 10%, reaching around 5,106,000.

On the other hand, there was a significant increase in passenger crossing figures in 2023, with the number of passenger crossings, which was 12,320,000 in 2022, reaching around 13,500,000 in 2023.
