Minister ISIKHAN declared that the monthly minimum wage, effective as of January 1, 2024, with a minimum wage support of 700 liras, had been set at a net 17,002 liras.
The first meeting of the Minimum Wage Determination Committee had taaken place on December 11, the second meeting on December 18 at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. The third meeting of the committee was held at the AKP General Headquarters with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Following the meeting, Minister Işıkhan made a statement, saying, “The minimum wage, effective from January 1, 2024, with 700 liras as minimum wage support, has been determined as a net 17,002 liras.” Minister Işıkhan’s remarks are as follows:
“Our Minimum Wage Determination Committee has completed its work on the new minimum wage. The committee’s goal is to set a limit that will satisfy all parties. We took on the role of an arbitrator between the workers and employers. I thank all stakeholders who showed a positive approach during the process.
I believe that the newly determined amount will satisfy all our citizens. The minimum wage, effective from January 1, 2024, with 700 liras as minimum wage support, has been set at a net 17,002 liras, marking a 49% increase.
I wish the new minimum wage brings prosperity to everyone.”
