We continue to see positive developments in tourism and economy in Edirne which has a lot to offer and deserves much more attention due to its historical background, in particular. One of these is the initiative of Balkan Cities Cooperation Edirne Platform.
The meeting of the Balkan Cities Cooperation Edirne Platform, established to coordinate cooperation and activities with cities in the Balkan countries, was held under the chairmanship of our Governor, Yunus Sezer.
During the meeting held at the Deveci Han, Governor Sezer, stating that their goal is to make Edirne the center of the Balkans, said:
“As part of this platform, 8 working groups have been established. Our aim is to establish sustainable relationships with our kinsmen and other countries in the Balkans in fields such as education, culture, health, sports, and industry. We consider the year 2024 as a year where many programs with Balkan themes can be organized. In 2025, we will further develop this platform into a more strategic and focused area.”
