One place associated with traditional trades is Ayakkabıcılar ve Terziler Çarşısı, commonly known as Dar Çarşı, in the historic centre.
Today, however, the businesses there are more strongly associated with shoe repair, cobblers and related services. For clothing alterations, it is worth looking elsewhere as well.
There are several working tailor ateliers in the nearby Vakıf İş Hanı, next to Mado Cafe on Saraçlar Street. These are small traditional workshops where you can explain what needs to be altered and ask whether the job can be done.
You will also find individual tailors and alteration workshops elsewhere in the city centre.
