A 2026 municipal maintenance and repair procurement specifically refers to the facility, confirming that it is maintained by Edirne Municipality.

Toilets Around Selimiye Mosque
Several toilet facilities are available around Selimiye Mosque.
Ministry of Culture inventory information identifies toilets at the north and west corners of the Selimiye complex. There is also a municipal toilet at the rear of Selimiye, beside Kent Lokantası. A 2026 municipal maintenance and repair procurement refers specifically to this facility.
Availability can vary. Local reporting in 2025 noted that the public toilet at Selimiye Square was closed on Mondays when the adjacent Bel Kafe was closed.
Other Toilets Around the Historic Centre
A disabled-accessible toilet is listed beside Bedesten, and another facility is listed in the İkikapılı Han area on İkikapılı Han Caddesi.
A facility listed as WC Bay Bayan Abdest Duş is on Su Terazisi Sokak in the Meydan area and includes toilet and ablution facilities.
Other online map listings identify men’s and women’s toilets around Selimiye, an accessible facility on Lüleciler Sokak, and public toilets on Hatice Hatun Sokak, Osmaniye Caddesi and Talat Paşa Caddesi.
For locations based primarily on online map information, we have not stated opening hours or charges unless we have reliable supporting information.
Are These All the Public Toilets in Edirne?
Probably not.
There are also toilets associated with mosques, museums, markets, cafés, restaurants and other establishments. Some are available to the general public, while others are intended for customers, worshippers or users of the facility.
Temporary toilets may also be installed during major events. Edirne Municipality has reported providing mobile toilets around Selimiye Square, Sarayiçi and Ulus Pazarı during Kakava and Hıdırellez celebrations.
