When we talk about a café in Edirne with something a little different to offer, NOOK CAFE is certainly one of the first places that comes to mind. We wanted to introduce this rather special café and pastry shop briefly.
The café is in a very central location. Although it is not right in the middle of the traditional shopping area, it is located in one of Edirne’s important newer residential areas, directly opposite the Edirne Courthouse.
The owner, Şevval Hanım, offers a range of distinctive and relatively unusual products, making this a rather ambitious café. In fact, we first got in touch with her after someone we know recommended the place to us, saying, “You definitely have to include this one in your article.”
And there is certainly plenty to choose from.
The desserts served at NOOK include cheesecake, brownie, San Sebastian cheesecake, Paris-Brest, profiteroles, Cookie Monster and Cocostar. The café produces around 40 different desserts during the month, so there is usually something new or different to try.
There is also a selection of savoury baked goods and pastries, including dill pastries, pastries with sun-dried tomatoes and cheese, two-cheese açma and Bosnian pastry, among others.
