In an effort to boost dive tourism and showcase the underwater riches of the region, buoys were placed in the Gulf of Saros to mark the locations of an airplane, a ship, and an underwater historical museum located off the coast of Ibrice Harbor.
These efforts, supported by divers, were closely monitored by Keşan District Governor and Keşan Mayor and Chairman of the Edirne Saros Tourism Infrastructure Service Union (ESTAB) Opr. Dr. Mehmet Özcan. Authorities have invited all diving enthusiasts eager to explore the underwater treasures of Saros to visit the area.

Gulf of Saros
Located in the northern part of the Aegean Sea, the Gulf of Saros is a triangular indentation stretching about 60 km between the Gelibolu Peninsula to the south and the Thrace shores to the north. The Gulf of Saros is one of the most saline areas of the Aegean Sea and is known for its complex whirlpool currents. Due to these currents, the Gulf of Saros is considered a self-cleaning gulf, one of only five in the world claimed to have this characteristic. The high oxygen content in its waters and the nutrient-rich runoff from streams make the Gulf of Saros a significant fishing area, abundant in various species. Both shores of the gulf are lined with summer homes and tourist facilities.
