Hafize Gaye Erkan, the President of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, announced her resignation on her social media account.
She said that she was targeted recently and decided to step down to protect her family, especially her young child, from any further repercussions.
She noted that she had resigned due to personal attacks on her reputation despite the increase in economic success and reserves.
Additionally, she expressed gratitude to those who supported her during her tenure, particularly thanking the President.
