Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy participated in the 4th Turkey-Bulgaria Tourism Joint Commission Meeting. Making a statemen regarding relations between two countries, Minister of Culture and Tourism Ersoy has emphasized the positive impact of increasing flights by Bulgarian airlines on tourism.
Minister Ersoy met with his Bulgarian counterpart Zaritsa Dinkova and her accompanying delegation at a meeting held at a hotel in Taksim. In his speech at the meeting, Minister Ersoy stated that the relations between the two countries would further progress in terms of tourism.
Minister Ersoy recorded the following:
“As the Minister of Tourism, I will continue to do my best to advance our joint efforts in the field of tourism. In the dates when we held our previous meeting, the pandemic was still ongoing intensely. We managed to keep the cooperation process between the two countries alive during the pandemic. After the end of the pandemic, we experienced a rapid upward momentum in our tourism data. There were significant increases in travels between our countries.
As you know, Bulgarian citizens can now travel to our country with their IDs without the need for a passport. The increase in visits is greatly influenced by this regulation. This situation made us very happy, and it became clear how accurate the decision taken was. I would like to propose another way to further develop the volume of increases in tourist numbers mutually. I believe that increasing the flights of Bulgarian airlines will contribute significantly to increasing this tourist volume. If you have any requests from our side, I will personally be involved. I have full confidence that the topics discussed in this meeting and the protocol signed during the meeting will be instrumental in further developing the tourism relations between the two countries.”
